Sumarroca Winery Excursion
At the appointed time, we'll meet at Passeig de Lluís Companys in Barcelona. From there we'll set off on a fascinating excursion to Bodegues Sumarroca to learn about the winemaking tradition of the Penedés area.
On the way, we'll take in views of beautiful vineyard landscapes while we learn interesting facts about the wine culture in Spain. Fun fact: many archaeologists believe that the first vineyards were planted around 4000 or 3000 B.C.!
When we arrive at the Sumarroca winery, next to the Anoia riverbed, we'll take a guided tour of its facilities to learn about the entire winemaking process. We'll learn how the grapes are grown, how they are harvested, and what are the techniques used in the winery to produce really interesting wines.
To complete the tour, we'll enjoy a tasting of their wines accompanied by appetizers, a real treat for the palate! Finally, we'll start on our way back to Barcelona and finish the tour after five hours of activity.
