Port Olímpic Barcelona

Port Olímpic Barcelona

Barcelona’s Port Olímpic (Olympic Port) was constructed to coincide with the 1992 Summer Olympics. It is nowadays an attractive leisure harbour that sits in front of the Olympic village, between Somorrostro beach (used to be part of La Barceloneta) and Nova Icària beach.

The city’s Olympic Port is one of the most famous leisure harbours in the Mediterranean coast, as well as one of the main tourist areas in Barcelona. Travelers will find a great nightlife in this part of town.

What to do in the Port Olímpic?

The Olympic Port has a delightful promenade all along the coast, which is perfect for a daytime stroll or an evening walk. It is packed with restaurants, terraces, bars, pubs and nightclubs and department stores, not to mention that it runs along several of the city’s beaches.

The two skyscrapers Hotel Arts and Torre Mapfre have both become symbols of this part of Barcelona.

This district also houses a popular modern shopping mall called Marina Village with international brands and exclusive boutiques and numerous restaurants.
