Castilian and Catalan are the two official languages in the region of Catalonia and its capital, Barcelona.
If you are planning to visit Barcelona and don’t speak Castilian or Catalan, don't worry because you can get by in English, especially in the touristy areas of the city or in hotels, restaurants or shops.
