On this tour, we'll travel to Ampurias to uncover its Greek and Roman past. We'll also discover the beautiful landscapes of Montgrí Natural Park and enjoy a boat trip around the Medes Islands.
Ampurias, Montgrí Natural Park & Medes Islands Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Barcelona at 8:30 am and set off for the coast of the province of Girona, a Mediterranean area that you're sure to fall in love with!
Once we arrive at the Costa Brava, we'll stop at the archaeological site of Ampurias for a guided tour of the Greek and Roman ruins. First, we'll see the remains of the Hellenistic period when the temples dedicated to the gods Asclepius and Serapis were built.
We'll continue our tour of the site of Ampurias visiting the Roman ruins. Among the main remains from that period are the remains of a Roman forum and Roman Domus. We'll also see the parts of the ancient tabernae that are still standing.
After visiting the archaeological site, we'll head to the village of Sant Martí d'Ampurias, where you'll have an hour free for lunch. Next, we'll make our way to the Montgrí Natural Park to enjoy its Mediterranean landscapes. Continuing in a southerly direction, we'll arrive at the small town of Estartit, where we'll embark on a peaceful boat trip around the Medes Islands. Ready to set sail on the Meditteranean sea?
During this trip, which will last an hour and a half, you'll be able to enjoy the stunning views of Medes Islands from the boat's glass windows and even enjoy underwater views. You'll also have 30 minutes free to snorkel in these sublime Mediterranean islands.
Finally, we'll sail back to the port of Estartit and from there we'll return to your hotel in Barcelona, where we'll arrive at 6:30 pm.
