Montserrat & Sitges Day Trip + Codorníu Winery Visit
Day Trip Details
We'll pick you up at the indicated time at the entrance to the Casa de les Punxes and, from this modernist building, located on Barcelona's Avenida Diagonal, we'll head north.
Our first stop will be Montserrat, one of the most visited natural sites in Spain. Long before we reach its base, we'll admire its impressive jagged mountain profile, which has been carved over centuries by the effects of wind and rain on the rock.
Once we reach this beautiful spot, we'll visit the Royal Basilica of Montserrat, the sanctuary where the Virgin of the Moreneta, the patron saint of Catalonia, is located. After visiting this basilica, which is one of the most famous pilgrimage sites in Spain, you'll have about 3 hours of free time to explore the area. You can take advantage of this time to grab a drink or a bite to eat for lunch.
Having eaten, we'll go to Cavas Codorníu, where we'll take a 45-minute guided tour of this famous winery, where we'll enjoy a tasting of cavas.
After this tasting, we'll continue our route towards Sitges, one of the most beautiful villages on the coast of Barcelona. Its microclimate, picturesque old town with whitewashed houses, and beautiful beaches make it one of the top destinations to enjoy the Mediterranean coast.
We'll take a short guided tour of its historic centre to learn about the route of the Indianos, originally from Sitges, who crossed the Atlantic in search of a better future in America. You'll also have about 2 hours of free time to explore the city, discover its beaches, or go shopping in the old town.
Finally, the trip will conclude with the return to the meeting point in Barcelona, where we'll arrive 11 hours after pickup.
