My family and I took the full day Barcelona tour and enjoyed the city by bus and the sights that we saw. I would recommend taking the bus tour because it lets you enjoy the views and the area without having to deal with the driving.

Discover the best of Barcelona on this full-day guided tour of the city. The visit includes a tour of the city centre by foot, including the Gothic Quarter, and a trip to the top of Montjüic by cable car.

Barcelona Full Day Tour

In the morning, meet your knowledgeable English-speaking guide and set off on a walking tour, along the narrow streets of the Gothic quarter, the centre of Barcelona's old town and historic centre. During this first part of the tour, we'll see some of the most emblematic spots in the Catalan capital, such as Las Ramblas the old Jewish Quarter, the Plaza de San Jaime and the Cathedral.

Next, the air-conditioned bus will head to the city’s seaport and your guide will point out the changes that Barcelona experienced as a result of the 1992 Summer Olympic Games. You’ll explore Vila Olímpica del Poblenou (The Olympic Village of Poblenou), the Olympic Port, the Barceloneta neighbourhood and Port Vell beach. Then, the coach will drive along the seafront to the Columbus Monument, situated at the bottom of Las Ramblas.

The next stop is Montjüic, where you’ll climb to the top of this famous hill on Montjüic’s recently renovated cable car. The 360º panoramic views of Barcelona and its surroundings are breath-taking.

Hop back on the bus and continue discovering Montjüic. Admire the Estadi Olímpic de Montjüic, Palau Sant Jordi, the Olympic sports facilities and Bernet Picornell Pools.

After your visit, you’ll head back to Barcelona’s city centre through the impressive Plaça d’Espanya. You’ll admire the square’s two Venetian Towers, the Montjüic Fountains, the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya and the city’s bullring called Arenas de Barcelona.

Hop off the coach at Plaça Catalunya and embark on a guided walking tour of the Gothic Quarter and historic centre. Some of the highlights include the Cathedral, Plaça Sant Jaume and its Town Hall and Headquarters of the Government of Catalonia.

Back at Plaça Catalunya, you’ll have time to eat at your own leisure or have lunch at Hard Rock Café (optional).

Having eaten, around 3:30 pm, you’ll discover Barcelona’s renowned Catalan Modernism architecture by visiting Antoni Gaudí’s striking creations.

The first stop will be the unfinished Sagrada Familia Basilica, the architect’s most ambitious project. Follow your guide around the exterior of the building and marvel at its various striking and disparate façades. This tour doesn’t include a visit to the church’s interior, but we recommend it for another day!

The coach will then head to Park Güell, designed by Antoni Gaudí between 1900 and 1914, and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Perched on top of Carmel Hill, this public park offers magnificent views of Barcelona and the Mediterranean Sea. You’ll be stunned at Gaudí’s ability to blend architectonic elements with nature.

The guided tour ends at 7:30 pm in Paseo de Gracia, in the city centre, packed with bars, stores and restaurants.

Optional lunch

If you wish, you can book this tour with lunch included at the Hard Rock Café. The meal consists of one main dish: Hard Rock hamburger, hamburger with Hard Rock cheese, vegetarian hamburger or chicken sandwich with honey and mustard sauce and one beverage: soft-drink, water, coffee or tea.

Important information

If the cable car to Montjüic doesn’t run on the day of your tour (for maintenance or other reasons), you’ll be offered a snack in the Montjüc castle café.
